realme just introduced the GT5, the company’s latest top-end phone in the GT series in China, as it had promised. It has a 6.7-inch 144Hz 1.5K flat T7+ OLED screen from Tianma. It also has 2160Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming, up to 1400 nits brightness, a 2.31mm ultra-narrow chin and a 1.46mm narrow side bezels.

The Pro-XDR high dynamic display restores the look and feel of light and dark content using a flagship algorithm, offering up to 8 times increase in brightness, according to the company. China 3.2 Inch Capacitive Touch Screen

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage, and Whirlwind memory engine 2.0 support that can keep up to 76 app background keep alive.

This is the the first Pixelwork’s IRX gaming experience certified mobile phone from realme, creating a new benchmark for ultra-high frame gaming mobile phones, says the company.

It uses independent display chip X7 for up to 144 fps frame rate compatible with 110 mainstream mobile games, says the company. League of Legends mobile game runs in native 144 frame mode, adds the company.

It has a geek performance panel that lets you set custom CPU frequency + multi-core scheduling.  There is variable heat dissipation system max with 20827mm² cooling area, Ice core cooling system Max, high-performance graphite material, and heat conduction efficiency increased by 10%  compared to the previous generation and 2000Hz gaming control engine, customized for players and antenna matrix system 3.0 as well as support for Wi-Fi 7.

The phone comes in Flowing Silver Mirror and Star Mist Oasis colours that have Star Mist AG technology, a rare liquid silver technology that creates a fluid metal texture and features the linear transition from the bright surface to the matte surface with 6-layer optical coating, customized high-precision hexagram AG texture, to achieve a smooth surface.

There is a transparent RGB design with 4 halo light strips that the company calls Halo Pro. This includes a transparent film and the halo RGB system offers 26 custom colors, new music rhythm, alarm clock light effects, support 10 exclusive contact and application notification light effects.

The phone has 50MP Sony IMX890 with OIS, HyperShot 2.0, Turbo RAW lossless image algorithm, Street shooting mode 3.0 and also has a microscope lens, in addition to a 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera.

There are two models, one with a 4600mAh with 240W fast charging, making it one of the fastest charging phone to be mass-produced. This reaches from 1 to 20% in 80 seconds, up to 50% in 4 minutes, and full charge about 9 minutes. The 5240mAh battery version has 150W charging that cam charge up to 50% in 7 minutes. There is a SUPERVOOC S power management chip.

The realme GT5 12GB + 256GB 150W version costs 2999 yuan (USD 411 / Rs. 34,430 approx.), the 16GB + 512GB 150W version is priced at 3299 yuan (USD 452 511 / Rs. 37,375 approx.) and the top-end 240W 24GB + 1TB version costs 3799 yuan (USD 520 / Rs. 43,615 approx.). It is available to order from today and will go on sale in China starting from September 4th.
